CCHS (Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome) is a rare genetic disorder that affects breathing. There are an estimated 1200 patients worldwide, and most of them are children. Because of its rarity, CCHS is known as an “orphan disease” with no cure and little funding for research.

This animation premiered at the Human Welfare Conference Japan where it was presented to Akie Abe, wife of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. It was created to help organizations like CCHS Family Network and affected families to raise awareness and increase support for CCHS. I co-wrote, designed, illustrated, and animated this piece.
